    Public Meeting #2 for the PuebloPlex Redevelopment Plan

    You are invited to attend Public Meeting #2 for the PuebloPlex Redevelopment Plan scheduled for Wednesday, September 9th at the Pueblo Convention Center in Pueblo from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, September 10th at the McHarg Park Community Center Gym in Avondale from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. At both public meetings the host, PuebloPlex, will be joined by their consultant, Matrix Design Group, who will present an overview of existing conditions, development suitability, and economic and market opportunities. The public is invited to attend either of the meetings to assist and provide input in the development of three preliminary development alternatives for the PuebloPlex Redevelopment Plan. This set of meetings will be the second of three for development of the PuebloPlex Redevelopment Plan. In order to develop a plan that is collaborative and responsive to local needs, input from the community is essential! For your convenience, Public Meeting #2 is being held in two locations:

    PuebloPlex – the local redevelopment authority responsible for privatizing the soon-to-be-former Pueblo Chemical Depot - is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Project Manager/Property Manager. The successful candidate will work with PuebloPlex management to advance the Redevelopment Plan for the 15,847 acres identified as surplus by the US Army. The position will support two phases of the PuebloPlex’s operation: 50% will be focused on current operations of the PuebloPlex and 50% will be focused on support-related functions planning for the PuebloPlex's future operations. While the position is office-based, a meaningful amount of time will be spent on undeveloped land and uneven terrain across 25 square miles as well as construction sites and buildings at varying stages completion/demolition/dilapidation. Current operations activities will include:
    • Establishing, maintaining, and updating computer-based real property inventory;
    • Assisting with the management of PuebloPlex assets which include up to 160 miles of roads, 46 miles of rail and over five million square feet of real improvements;
    • Developing cost estimates for capital improvement plans on buildings and equipment;
    • Implementing operations plans across multiple functions and disciplines on the privatizing portion of the Depot;
    • Participating in facilities inspections as a representative of PuebloPlex;
    • Helping implement revenue generation strategies to promote self-sufficiency of the PuebloPlex;
    • Other duties as requested by management.
    Future operations activities will include:
    • Supporting the creation of the PuebloPlex Redevelopment Plan;
    • Working with stakeholders to understand Base property, including all utilities, real and personal property along with their opportunities and constraints;
    • Advising senior management at the PuebloPlex on Asset Management related issues;
    • Coordinating with Army personnel and the Accounting & Operations Manager regarding asset disposition and management;
    • Conducting site inspections to validate inventories. Input and update control system for retained personal property and provides expertise in personal property evaluation and management in support of the PuebloPlex;
    • Providing advice on the issues of real and personal property issues including Army relocation activities and regulations, and property disposition procedures;
    • Other duties as requested by management.
    The successful candidate should be comfortable with entrepreneurial environments while appreciating that we will operate in coordination with the Army’s mission on the Depot. A background in construction, development, finance, planning, real estate or similar areas is required. Strong and demonstrable mathematical, analytical, statistical and accounting skills is also required. The candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering or related field (a Graduate Degree in Business or Public Administration is strongly preferred) and a minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience in financial analysis, project management, real estate, planning, construction management, facilities management or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The PuebloPlex is a drug-free workplace and is located on a US Military Installation.
